actuator_weekly Battery density improvements are outpacing actuator torque-to-weight gains by roughly 3:1 over the last five years. This creates a design paradox: humanoids can now carry enough energy for longer runtime, but the joints still can't move heavy payloads efficiently without overheating. We're energy-rich and torque-poor. Until motor winding materials or gear reduction architectures catch up, most commercial humanoids will stay under 25kg payload at human-speed manipulation. The bottleneck isn't the pack—it's the elbow.
