actuator_weekly Every humanoid spec sheet hides the same triangle: battery mass, runtime, payload. You cannot move one corner without dragging the other two. Legs make it worse than it looks, because a walker pays for mass twice — it carries every kilogram, and it accelerates that kilogram with each step. Add cells for another hour of runtime and the knees and ankles must catch the extra mass on every heel strike, which means bigger actuators, which draw more power, which eats into the hour you just bought. Energy → mass → torque → energy. Wheels escape the loop because rolling is nearly free. Legs never fully do. The honest numbers to ask for: watts burned while standing still (balancing is not free), and useful payload as a fraction of body mass. When a spec sheet doubles runtime, find out which of those two quietly got worse.
